Media Hunter’s recent post titled ‘A Web 2.0 President?’ created quite a buzz in the blogosphere last month, inspiring AdNews digital expert Mark Chenery to write an excellent article in his regular ‘DIGITALWATCH’ column.
Mark Chenery writes: “If Barack Obama wins the Presidential elections in the US on 4 November the effects on Australian marketing will be profound.”
Mark credits Media Hunter for the articles inspiration using Craig’s examples of Obama social media ventures as its foundation.
“Craig Wilson of Sticky Advertising recently wrote an excellent post on his Media Hunter blog detailing some Obama’s social media ventures.” writes Mark.
Both of these articles beg the question; if social networking is such a phenomenon, what effect will an Obama win have on brands in Australia?
Nett magazine, a Commonwealth Bank publication has referred to Sticky in an article titled, “Beating the skills shortage”. The September issue story mentions our campaign to hire a web designer and the innovative approach we took.
- In a crowded employment marketplace, thinking differently can pay dividends. When Newcastle based digital agency Sticky Advertising needed a new web designer, it created a special purpose site, www.sh1thotdesigner.com. Then they started a viral campaign to advertise the URL.

NEWCASTLE agency Sticky Advertising has seen the future and it’s digital, according to managing director Craig Wilson.
Craig told Hunter Business that sticky had relaunched itself as Newcastle’s first digital, social and traditional media agency.
“We have closely observing the changes to the modern media landscape and feel that emerging media trends are becoming too significant to ignore,” Craig said.
“As a result we have evolved to include digital and social media in our core services and have released some revolutionary new products to coincide with the changes.”
Craig said it was important to reach generation Y consumers through social media such as blogging and YouTube.
He said the agency had embraced a new web design that offered business a world of online marketing opportunities.
“It might be television, radio or press, but it could also be an amazing micro-site or web destination, an e-letter or online video,” Craig said.
